Disability Pride Month 2026

July is Disability Pride Month. We mark it in July because the Americans with Disabilities Act was signed on July 26, 1990. The ADA was a beginning, not an ending. It heralded curb cuts, lifts on buses, closed captioning, web access, the right to live in our communities, and a generation of disabled people who grew up expecting to be included.
