Outdoors for Everyone
‘Outdoors for Everyone’ is a new program to find FUN ways for communities to come together in 2024 in outdoor spaces. The excitement for outdoor programming has sparked new ideas and ways to include new partners. Disability Pride PA will produce activities along the Delaware River Trail utilizing and surveying more the trail with partners like Adapted Birders, The Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University, and more.
This is partially funded by the Pennsylvania Environmental Council in collaboration with The Circuit Trails Coalition.

FUN Adventures to Join in Philadelphia
Happy Circuit Trails Day!

In partnership with The Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University will join cities around the world to collaborate and share observations of nature in the 2024 City Nature Challenge. We will gather at The Schuylkill River Trail in front of the Lloyd Hall Recreation Center. There is a parking lot at the Lloyd Hall with a few accessible parking sites. We will have two naturalists and use the technology of two Apps, Merlin and iNaturalist as well as naturalist backpacks borrowed from the ANS to guide us and help us enter our nature findings for the challenge. Adapted Birding Adventures
Join us and the Philly Adapted Birder Group for a winter birding adventure at the Academy of Natural Sciences at Drexel University on February 2, 2024 from 10am - 12pm. Museum fee apply.
Accessible Birding and Tour of 'The Bird Ethic' art installation

Experience the joy of birding on our paved Widener Trail, where you’ll also have the opportunity to explore “The Bird Ethic,” an exhibition by Susan Hagen. This site-specific outdoor installation features sculptural diorama-like installations that delve into the history of bird conservation and ornithology in America.
In addition to the birding and art viewing, we’ll have food and drink available to keep you refreshed throughout the event. To ensure an inclusive and accessible experience, we’ll provide sensory kits, live audio descriptions, and American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation. The event also features Braille signage for visually impaired attendees.
This event is free to attend. Registration is required. This event is in partnership with Art-Reach, Pennsylvania Center for Adapted Sports, and the Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education.

PAST EVENTS
The Circuit Trails is a vast regional trail network in the Greater Philadelphia and southern New Jersey region.
The Circuit Trails can be used for walking, biking, running, strolling, rolling. It connects communities, providing endless opportunities for recreation, relaxing and commuting.
Currently 378 miles are constructed and, when complete, the network will comprise 800 miles. One of the Circuit Coalition’s goals is to construct 500 miles of trail by 2025.
The Circuit Trails are advocated for, built and maintained by a Coalition of nearly 100 members and partners.
